Masazo is a family run lodge offering comfortable accommodation and excellent food in a great location for 3 generations. Masazo is more than just a place to rest your head, It’s more like a homestay with Shizuko and Minoru really going out of their way to make your stay a fantastic Japanese experience. Shizuko is an excellent cook and prepares a hearty breakfast (Japanese or Western – Japanese is recommended) everday. Minoru works for the fire department in the next town over, but makes a point of introducing every guest to the regions finest sake when he is back at the lodge. Masazo is a popular lodge

Getting to Masazo

Take a bus from Togari Nozawa Onsen Station. Get off at the Shinden Stop. Masazo is a short walk of about 300m from there.

Nearest access to the slopes

Masazo is 300m walk from the Mukobayashi Cat Track.

What’s nearby?

There are 2 onsens very close to Masazo, Akiha and Shinden. The location is very central and there are lots of restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the lodge. The closest restaurants are Suzuki Soba, which serves Soba noodles (a Nagano Speciality) and Masaemon Yakitori – a great little hole in the wall where you can order chicken skewers for 100 yen each and drink sake to your hearts delight.
