Ski Touring in March

Here are some photos taken in March 2008, when we took a trip from the top of Nozawa to Maguse Onsen. Although the abrupt end to the 08/09 season meant we didn’t get much powder, it was a great day. The highlights were having a few beers at the top of the section section surrounded by nothing but snow trees and mountains, seeing a Kamoshika in the wild, and the Onsen at the end.
Maguse Onsen is ranked in the top three outdoor hot springs (rotenburo) in Japan, and is about 30 minutes drive from Nozawa.
