Akakura resort incorporates the Akakura Kanko and Akakura Onsen ski areas, and as such covers a large area with over 20 lifts in operation. Terrain ranges from mellow groomed playgrounds and winding forest trails for beginners, to snowboard parks full of kickers and rails for jib fiends and hidden forested slopes for deep powder riding. Both ski areas are amalgamations of smaller resorts – Akakura Kanko combines ‘Hotel’ and ‘Champion’ courses while Akakura Onsen incorporates ‘Chuo’, ‘Yodel’, ‘Kumado’ and ‘Ginrei’ courses. The whole area can be ridden on one ticket, or separate tickets for Kanko and Onsen are also available.
